Protecting my Internet Identity

I wouldn't want to tell you to be scared online. But you should be aware. Very aware. And maybe just a little scared. The tips and tools learned in the online safety section are crucial. Nowadays we are being attacked from all angles so be careful. When going to websites for the first time you should make sure you entered the address correctly, it is possible to be on the wrong site pretending to be the correct one. People are also looking to even copy things from pictures to usernames again in an attempt to pretend to be you. I actually see it happen all the time. I used to depend on the the internet providers security service which is fine but you have to make sure it covers everything you need. Understanding that your browser can be a line of defense is important as well. And I did not know all of these things but once I figured them out I changed a lot of my settings immediately. So again this website is pretty cool with all the useful information that's out there for peop

How I use Social Media

I don't. Lol well I try not but if I have to I would say its for research. During the pandemic I was home with nothing to do, was the time when it was used the most. What I did was take online classes through Instagram. I learned how to do knotless braids from 2 different people. Loved the variety of the 2. I wouldn't call myself a FB person but I could see the use, keeping in touch with family (not I) lol but also it connected me to like minded people. For instance I like to work out and a girl offered free step classes through her FB platform so I had to sign up. It was free. So I would call myself a user of social media if it makes sense. I'm not one to sit around and waste time though. One platform I never thought I would use was TikTok but I have a teenager who seemed to like it so I had to see what was involved, and I actually enjoyed making a couple videos with my son, I feel as if it brought us a little closer so I wasn't too mad. But it's not for me.

Computer Basics

Hello All. This spring semester I took CIS100. Even when you think you know a lot. There's plenty to be learned. I pretty much knew how to do the basics especially with power point and excel. But with this course I feel like I learned plenty of efficient tips to move faster when creating. Excel will never be my friend but the website provided the best information to walk you through the steps. I wasn't sure what this class would entail but I'm not mad at the information learned!
